The client required some extra space added to this modest cottage. With a tight budget, additions to the existing residence were deemed to be the most cost-effective option. The addition includes 2 new bedrooms, master ensuite & walk in robe, carport, kitchen and alfresco. New cladding is also proposed comprising of fibre cement sheeting and battens with a paint finish to give the home an updated coastal appearance.

The design captures the expansive rural views, has a northerly aspect and has clean modern lines. Looking forward to seeing the finished product.
This duplex development, in Palm Beach on the Gold Coast, should be starting construction in the near future. I designed this detached duplex for the clients so they could live in one and use the other residence as a rental property. The design in simple and modern with plenty of space for their growing family.
The project uses Colorbond Matt as a cladding material in Monument, as shown below. Hopefully, I will get around to taking some photos as the build progresses.
Situated alongside a small creek in the picturesque countryside in Mudgeeraba in the Gold Coast Hinerland, this new home has been designed to complement its context by Matthew Dean at Matthew Dean Architects. The home has been designed to maximise the level of quality natural light provide cross-ventilation into the internal living spaces, by using high louvred windows. The large deck off the main living spaces takes in views to the creek and out towards the landscape. Living spaces are open plan and perfect for entertaining with a butler’s pantry and outdoor kitchen on the extensive deck. There is also a self-contained office that has been designed to be flexible and could also be used as a guest suite or elderly accommodation.
